We spent the month of July renting a small apartment just off of Vondelpark in Amsterdam. We bought bikes on our first day and, I believed, managed to cover every square foot of the city and then some.
The time zones worked out perfectly for my remote working situation: I would spend days exploring the city and surrounding area with Michelle and Zevin, then I would “go to work” around 4 or 5 pm, when United States was waking up.
This post is being written very belatedly, so I’m going to just leave this gallery of our best photos here, as our visual diary.
Our favorite memories are mostly just peddling around the city, exploring the little neighborhoods, but some highlights include a trip to The Hague (and a visit to the Escher Museum there), a boat trip (and local BBQ) with Ben, a Banksy exhibit at the MoCo, breakfasting at the local farmers markets, and just pretending, for a little bit, that we would live there forever.
